This Privacy Policy explains how Fhemni, operated by Mohammed Aboullaite ("Fhemni", "we", "us"), handles personal data when you use fhemni.ma. Fhemni helps people understand public videos and political programmes through reviewed, AI-assisted summaries, evidence checks, and question answering.

1. Data we collect

Account and sign-in data

If you sign in through a third-party identity provider, we receive an account identifier and the profile information that the provider makes available and you authorize. Depending on the provider, this may include a display name, username, avatar, email address, and email-verification status. Fhemni does not receive or store the password you use with that provider.

If you use email magic-link sign-in, we collect your email address. The raw one-time token is not stored; Fhemni stores a cryptographic hash, its creation and expiry times, and whether it was used.

Participation and usage data

We store actions needed to operate the service, such as video suggestions, votes, selected policy interests, error reports, account role, sign-in times, and AI usage records used to enforce fair limits and control costs. Reports may include text and a source URL that you provide.

Questions and AI conversations

When you ask a video or political programme a question, Fhemni processes the question, recent conversation context, and the relevant public source material. Conversation text is held temporarily in application memory and is not published as part of the public analysis.

Technical data

Our hosting and security systems may process information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events. This information is used to deliver and protect the service.

2. How we use data

We use personal data to authenticate you, maintain your session, provide private question answering, record suggestions and votes, remember selected policy interests, prevent fraud and spam, apply usage limits, investigate errors, secure and improve Fhemni, and meet legal obligations.

Where applicable, we rely on performance of our agreement with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Fhemni, consent for optional analytics where legally required, and compliance with law.

We do not sell personal data or use authentication-provider data for advertising.

3. Sharing and service providers

We share data only as needed to operate Fhemni, when you direct us to do so, or when required by law. Providers may include:

  • third-party identity providers for account authentication;
  • Google Gemini for signed-in questions and AI-assisted analysis;
  • OpenAI for optional editorial fact-checking workflows involving public source material;
  • an email delivery provider for magic-link messages;
  • Google Analytics if optional analytics are enabled;
  • YouTube and Google Cloud for embedded public videos and reviewed media delivery; and
  • hosting, database, and security providers that process data on our behalf.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. Data may be processed outside your country and protected through the safeguards required by applicable law.

4. Retention

  • Account and participation records are retained while the account is active and as needed for service integrity, dispute resolution, security, and legal compliance.
  • Login sessions normally expire after eight hours of inactivity.
  • AI conversation text is normally removed from application memory after approximately six hours and is also lost when the relevant process restarts.
  • Magic links normally expire after 15 minutes. Used and expired token records are periodically removed.
  • Backups, security records, and provider records may remain for a limited additional period under operational or legal retention schedules.

We may retain anonymized or aggregated information that no longer identifies you.

5. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

Fhemni uses essential session and security cookies to keep you signed in, prevent request forgery, and safely return you to the page you requested. Your language preference is stored locally in your browser. These features are necessary for the requested service.

Optional Google Analytics may collect page-view and interaction information when configured. Fhemni removes ordinary page query parameters before sending page locations and does not intentionally send questions, magic-link tokens, or account identifiers to analytics. Where consent is required, analytics should remain disabled until valid consent is obtained.

6. Your choices, rights, and deletion

You can disconnect Fhemni through the connected-app or security settings offered by your identity provider. This prevents future authorization through that provider but does not by itself delete information already held by Fhemni.

To request access, correction, export, objection, restriction, or deletion of your Fhemni account and associated sign-in data, email privacy@fhemni.ma from the email connected to your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting. We will respond as required by applicable law, and may retain limited information where legally required or necessary to protect the service.

7. Security and children

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including hashed one-time tokens, restricted credentials, secure production cookies, and access controls. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Fhemni is not directed to children under 13. You must also meet the minimum digital-consent age that applies where you live, or use the service with the authorization of a parent or guardian.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as Fhemni changes. Material updates will be identified by a new date on this page. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to privacy@fhemni.ma.
